Hello. Please stop adding that link to multiple articles until you gather consensus for the additions. Try this talk page. Thank you in advance. El_C 04:50, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, your other non-US-Presidents-related edits all appear to feature Appleton's however, promotion is not permitted on Wikipedia, so these additions may be removed unless you're able to provide an explantion as to why they should be retained in multiple Wikipedia entries. Thanks again. El_C 04:54, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Sir/Madam, are you seeing these comments? I'm going to suspend your ability to edit for two min to in order to ensure you're aware of these. El_C 04:56, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, these are Appleton's Biographyies edited by Stanley L. Klos. Many of your articles are drawn from these and I was just rying to take your readers to source. Will stop, sorry

The Appleton biographies are excellent sources from 19th century, and it's good that Klos edited them. These are the sort of links that make Wiki useful. Rjensen 05:05, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi again and thanks for the response. While I'm going to pose the question at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U.S. Presidents, please feel free to continue adding the link/s in the meantime as you see fit. As well, I'll undo my removals. Regards, El_C 05:10, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Appleton publishers was a main New York publisher of solid serious historical material in the 19th century--especially the Annual Cyclopedia (1860-1901) which I use all the time. Appleton published an excellent 6-volume compendium of biographies of famous Americans. They are factual and unbiased. It's hard to find outside big libraries so it's great they are online now and can be linked to Wiki articles. Stan Klos, an expert in historical documents, has done a good job in editing them and making them available. Rjensen 05:15, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
I did not know that. Thanks for the detailed expalantion. El_C 05:27, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding the external links you have been adding..

Please come and participate in this discussion about the links you have been adding to so many articles on Wikipedia. --Versageek 01:22, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Links, again

Hi again. I'm afraid this is becoming somewhat suspicious at this point. This account does not add content (text) but only links, always to (a) similar set(s) of url(s). How do you, the account holder, account for this editing pattern? Thank you in advance. El_C 06:50, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Please stop adding links to the site you're linking to today. It does not comply with our policy on External links, specifically this: WP:EL#Links_normally_to_be_avoided. Kind regards, --JoanneB 16:39, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
I thought the addition of Appleton's Biography to the site was already reviewed and approved. Don not understand why you object to a link of an historic biography —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.94.139.230 (talkcontribs)
I've read the discussion above, but I was surprised to that this is about the same site. In general, external links should not be to sites that contain only the information that the article itself could or should contain. Apparently, others thought an exception should be made in this case. I'll revert myself. --JoanneB 16:56, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] May 2008

Hi, the recent edit you made to CATS has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks.
