Those are the official university colors; not just for the logo:

"A significant factor in the success of the University's unified identity is adherance to a standard color palette. Whatever color scheme the web developer for UVA's site chose to use is not an indicator of the official colors of the University...Even the identity website is recent; as it was updated less than a month ago. In any case, I have e-mailed the University to confirm the official colors. --Opertinicy (talk) 21:14, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
