[edit] Cleanup templates
Just to let you know that most cleanup templates, like "unreferenced", "fact", "cleanup", "Notability" etc., are best not "subst"ed . See WP:SUBST for more details. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 09:48 8 December 2007 (GMT).
[edit] Biting newbies
(cc'd from my User Talk page)
- Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers, as you did with User_talk:70.232.36.207. 24.6.192.223 (talk) 20:24, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, I am not sure Nick Gaskin cast as a caveman would agree. If you want to be a clown, join a circus. If you want to edit and have fun, edit Wikipedia (note that this is directed at the other anon, not you). I appreciate the heads-up, but I've no patience for vandals. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 08:14, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Section titling
As much as I am flattered by you following up on my posts elsewhere, please stop altering the post back to its soapboxing title. It is a continuation of the section immediately above it and is an arbitrary break. If you are unclear how Talk Page discussions function, please take a look at WP:TALK, or ask an admin for assistance. Let's not revisit this particular topic again. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 03:45, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- So that justifies you not only changing the original wording (for the third time), but deleting my post explaining why it should remain as well?[1] 24.6.192.223 (talk) 04:13, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- I must apologize for the removal of your post; the sole purpose was to revert the titling back to its proper place in the conversation (not as a brand new section but rather a subsection of the previous conversation, and leaving off the shouty bit). I don't think that removing folks' posts is at all cool, and I did not intend it.
- Regarding the matter, the conversation has taken on an unfortunate edge which I think is going to end badly if continued. What you described to me - using other IP addresses as accounts - sounded a great deal like socking to me (and yes, I have unfortunately dealt with enough sock-puppets to know the topic very well). If I misinterpreted your IP renewal as something more sinister, please accept my apology for that as well. I imagien this isn't going to be the first time this has come up, but you might want to consider creating an actual ID, which will exist no matter what IP you edit from. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 02:18, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
