[edit] Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome!

Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 14:17, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits to August 30

Thanks for all of your work helping out Wikipedia by updating our Dottie West information. I had to remove the entry from August 30; we try to limit items listed under "Events" to things that were particularly significant. Her birth and death are appropriate to list on the date pages; the accident that ultimately led to her death a few days later isn't quite so significant, so we don't list it. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 14:17, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Brian Mulroney

I'm concerned that your recent edits to Brian Mulroney are adding a personal point of view to the article. His unpopularity at the end of his term is already discussed in the article, and I don't think that a sweeping statement like "he was increasingly referred to as the most despised Prime Minister in Canadian history. A popular feeling among many Canadians that still holds true today," can be made without support by an external source. I'm also not sure that it belongs in the introduction to the article. I'm not going to revert your addition right now, but if someone else does, I'd ask you to discuss it on the article's talk page before adding it again. Thanks. Eron 16:21, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits to Chatham-Kent, Ontario

I have reverted your changes to the religious breakdown figures in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. Please do not deliberately introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Chatham-Kent, Ontario. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 17:52, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your comments on my talk page

"Who are you to edit other people responses anyway? This is after all, free speech, and the internet allows for the free exchange of ideas, beliefs, and opinions, and if I want to express that opinion, and exercise that freedom, then I shall freely do so. Why are you so worried on what *I* write anyway? Especially with regards to some moron that Canadians would much prefer to forget... LOL, free speech? Yeah right."

Wikipedia is about facts, not opinions. I have corrected the religion percentages that you changed in Chatham-Kent, Ontario, and I've removed the uncited allegations you added to Randy Hope. And several people have now reverted your insistence on changing the lead of the Brian Mulroney article to reflect your point of view. Please read about the Wikipedia standards of neutrality and verifiability, and please stop adding your own point of view to articles. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 18:04, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

LOL! And the fact IS is that Brian Mulroney DID go down in Canadian history as one of the most despised Prime Minister, and history will show that Canada has never been the same since he destroyed us. Canada=51st state.

[edit] Keep up the good work

The powers that be may disapprove of your message regarding Brian Mulroney. Wikipedia's usually quick to jump on anyone who disputes official accounts of events as "conspiracy nuts". To hell with that, Mulroney was the worst thing that happened to Canada, there's a fact for ya :). This is why so many of my friends have left Wikipedia, they just spew bullshit and the more you try to edit it, the more trouble you get in. 69.156.106.63 16:02, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
