User talk:24.36.9.241
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This host, d36-9-241.home1.cgocable.net, is registered to Cogeco, an Internet service provider through which numerous individual users may connect to the Internet via proxy. This IP address may be reassigned to a different person when the current user disconnects.
For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases, you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism, in which case, please see here.
If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user.
Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.
Note: In the event of vandalism from this address, abuse reports may be sent to your network administrator for further investigation. |

[edit] February 2008
- Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Mwai Kibaki, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Mwai Kibaki, you will be blocked from editing. DiligentTerrier • talk |sign here 21:10, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

- This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. —slakr\ talk / 19:11, 5 March 2008 (UTC) - This is your only warning.
The next time you make a personal attack, you will be blocked for disruption. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. DiligentTerrier and friends 19:13, 5 March 2008 (UTC)- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
[edit] Update on your personal attacks and vandalism
Just wanted to let you know that I have filed a WP:ANI on you asking for an extended block and protection of this talk page. You can read it here. DiligentTerrier and friends 19:30, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

- good read. i enjoyed the words you typed about disruptive edits to the talk pages of 2 anonymous people. also, preventing a user from editing their own talk page before they defend themselves is bad practice. and, telling people to get accounts after they've been blocked isn't very productive. 24.36.9.241 (talk) 21:54, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, guess what? I reported you and you are blocked now!!! DiligentTerrier and friends 22:19, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- your enthusiasm indicates you got quite the rush of self-satisfaction from your accomplishment. keep on fighting the noble fight. 24.36.9.241 (talk) 22:38, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

I conclude that the above comment shows familiarity with the previous trolling - so I have enacted a block. You will note that this block does not effect your ability to edit this page, so you have not been silenced. However, if you do abuse this ability then it is quite simple to censor you. Please remember that this is a private site to which members of the public are invited to contribute to an encyclopedia. It is not a bastion of free, unregulated speech and there are rules that are both to be followed and applied. LessHeard vanU (talk) 22:20, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome
OK — I'm going to try to be nice now
Hello! I've noticed that you have edited Wikipedia without logging in to an account. I'm happy that you've been contributing. However, I urge you to create an account. Here is a list of the benefits of having an account:
- You can create new pages
- You can use watchlists
- You can upload images
- You can keep your account from being unfairly blocked if you share an IP address
- You can use scripts to better fight annoying vandalism
- After four days, you can edit semi-protected pages
- After a while, you might be able to become an administrator
There are no cons to signing up for an account. In fact, there are more pros here! Signing up is completely free and you don't need to enter any personal information! Plus you can have a user page like mine! So, unless you can think of a con, sign up for an account right now! DiligentTerrier and friends 23:05, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Your recent edit to Isaac Shelby Cemetery State Historic Site (diff) was reverted by an automated bot. The edit was identified as adding vandalism, or link spam to the page or having an inappropriate edit summary. If you want to experiment, please use the preview button while editing or consider using the sandbox. If you made an edit that removed a large amount of content, try doing smaller edits instead. Thanks! (Report bot mistakes here) // VoABot II (talk) 04:07, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
