[edit] The Silent Scream

Please note that arguments about article content should be addressed to the talk page, not the article itself, leaving the NPOV tag to direct people to any discussion that is taking place. In future, please do not add comments to the article itself. Thank you. --Popplewick (talk) 14:19, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you delete or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia, as you did to Silent scream, you will be blocked from editing. delldot talk 16:43, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

[edit] Please think again

While I would agree that the article The Silent Scream is not all it could be in terms of sourcing, vandalising it will not have the effect of addressing your concerns. Please consider familiarising yourself with various editing guidelines and policies: WP:FIVE is a good starting point for this. --Popplewick (talk) 16:48, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your note on Silent Scream

Hi Dave, thanks for the note and the explanation. I agree with Poppelwick that defacing the article's not going to get you anywhere - it'll just get you blocked, and your edits will be reverted right away. Your best bet is to to be very straight and narrow editor: only add content that's very, very well sourced with reliable sources. Also, per the very fundamental WP:NPOV policy, all material should be neutral in tone, not appearing to advocate one way or the other. So there really shouldn't be arguments for either side; the article should merely summarize what arguments notable groups have used and cite the sources.

As you say, some material that's already in the article may be biased; you should explain on the article's talk page exactly what parts you see as problematic and what the problems with them are. If no one objects, you can remove the material. If someone does, you can discuss it until you come to an agreement. If you're at a total deadlock, you can begin the steps of dispute resolution. But I suspect that if you add only neutral, well-referenced material, it won't be removed.

I recommend creating an account, since it will make it easier to participate in discussions (no one will remember your IP address) and has a bunch of other perks. Leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions or want to discuss anything. Peace, delldot talk 17:16, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
