I reverted your questions. It looked like you were trying to bait people. Especially given the fact that you spammed them to many different talk pages. Please use common sense and restrict your questions to one page and present them one at a time. Even then you may be reverted if you are not discussing the article. David D. - Talk pages are to discuss the article. If you really want to ask such question the appropriate forum is the science desk. They will not be revert if you ask them there. By the way I did leave one of your questions on the race and intelligence page. It was the fact you pasted them on to multiple pages that convinced me to start reverting them. Unfortunately, someone else reverted your questions on the race and intelligence talk page. Regardless, the science reference desk is the apporpriate place to ask. David D. Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.
Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 24.23.51.27). Logging in does not require any personal details, and there are many other benefits for logging in.
When you edit pages:
- Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
- Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such content or editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can click the edit this page tab above, type {{helpme}} in the edit box, and then click Save Page; an experienced Wikipedian will be around shortly to answer any questions you may have. Also feel free to ask a question on my Talk page. I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 10:17, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Whois
Hey, I noticed on Ryūlóng's page that you were concerned about your Whois information, if you sign up for an account, that kind of information will be hidden. More info in the above welcome message. Cheers, Sarah Ewart (Talk) 10:17, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- No, it won't remove the link that's already there, but if you have a username editors won't be able to look up your IP details or associate you or your edits with this IP address. Something to think about anyway. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 10:39, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Every edit you make traces you to this IP. Look below too there is a WHOIS there too. I think Sarah is right, you should sign up for a user account. It might sound counterintuititve but it is actually more private. It will also make your editing easier. Editors here are always a bit suspicious of IP edits. Someone with a username usually has an easier time interacting. Come and ask more question on my talk page and I'll help you get up and running. David D. (Talk) 12:56, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
