[edit] Additions of http://. hostadfree.org

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.--Hu12 15:17, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

This is an inappropriate response. This link has been discussed, and far more valid than the link to Yahoo, who charges $300 per submission and only lists companies that flood user pages with advertising for cheap loans. The directory link provided is not commercial in nature, and you basically don't know what you're talking about. It's typical of Wiki to support knee-jerk removal of a link without even looking at it these days. I understand why, but this is an exception.

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia. ---- Hu12 (talk) 20:10, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

This is not a spam link. You have not specified a reason for your removal - although your knowledge of icons and templates is impressive.

Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you.--Hu12 (talk) 19:55, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Did you actually *look* at the stuff DMOZ links to? I created a website called "hostadfree" in order to list sites that don't spam and don't screw over their users. I sit around and create accounts on each of the sites, and ping them daily. DMOZ has refused my request to create an "ad free" subcategory of hosting - probably because about 4 "ad sponsored" hosting providers are DMOZ editors. I get about 12 link submissions per month at hostadfree and less than 5% of them are legitimate. In addition, the existing links are of varying quality and many of them go out of business. Wikipedia and DMOZ have adequate interfaces to maintain a list of hosting sites - but BOTH systems have entrenched edit staff that can't see the value of maintaining a one or more lists of providers that satisfy a minimum criteria (ie: free & no ads) - hence my creation of a separate list.
