Evidence exists though, that some people do care. The group of we is not homogenous in most characteristics. I find my interest attracted to why one is more or less caring than another. If our characteristics are the result of genetic predisposition and environmental effects, and we can alter the environment to create a more caring affect, I believe that would be a useful and valid endeavor. Disenfranchisement seems to be a major factor pushing people to care less, and frustration with a system that outwardly lauds fairness, support and cooperation, but is inherently unfair, unsupportive and uncooperative. This is why I believe Universal Enfranchisement can help provide a more nurturing environment, empowerment, and a sense of ownership and responsibility for the interdependence of a society of humans.

I believe the sense of entitlement that is negatively associated with the disenfranchised as though it were a bad thing, exists in all humans, is valid, but is not apparent in the enfranchised, accepted, or well functioning simply because their needs are met, and their rights are protected.

I find that those things considered entitlements generally coincide with the rights expressed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. UE and the Basic Income would provide access to these rights for all humans.
