- Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Trent Dilfer, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Kralizec! - Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Hawaii (island). When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as the text has been restored from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --Kralizec! - Please stop. If you continue to blank out or delete portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Hawaii (island), you will be blocked from editing. --Kralizec! (talk) 11:29, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- With regard to your comments on User talk:Kralizec!: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. [edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 15:42, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Editing on Wikipedia
It appears that we have gotten off on the wrong foot, so I would like to start over.
Please accept my apology for being overly brusque during our initial interactions. So far this year I have reverted over a thousand cases of vandalism or POV pushing, and in order to handle these reverts expediently, I -and virtually all other Wikipedia editors- use the array of standardized warnings when leaving messages for unregistered or new editors. While this works the vast majority of the time (you are one of perhaps three people this year to have contacted me regarding one of these messages), I am sorry if you feel a standard boilerplate note was not appropriate for this situation.
As to the use of the {{okina}} template, one of Wikipedia's fundamental building blocks is the fact that editors work collaboratively in order to build consensus. This prevents individuals from imposing their will (also known as "POV pushing") on any aspect of the project. Since your removal of the okinas goes against WP:HIMOS (and shows up on recent changes as being a large, red-flagged deletion), I summarily reverted your deletions. If you disagree, the appropriate venue is to discuss it (as you later did at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Hawaii/Manual of Style), rather than threaten [1] to continue changing the pages back to your preferred version. Another Wikipedia cornerstone is civility; calling other editors "an idiot" or "douchebag" only serves to inflame emotions and distract people from the resolving the issue at hand.
If you have not already done so, I would encourage you to become a registered user and help make Wikipedia the best possible encyclopedia! Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 23:12, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
