[edit] To everyone who recommends that I register
Would that I could. Every time I try to do so the foxfire program simply freezes. I am, however, also registered from a different terminal as User:Italo Svevo, where I take credit and blame for all the work done under the name 24.126.41.116. The real Italo Svevo (or the not so real Zeno Cosini) would have found something appealing in that sequence of numbers, I'm sure.
[edit] Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I see you've contributed a fair bit recently, particularly in creating International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union. I hope you enjoy editing here and create an account. You get access to useful tools such as watchlists and actually become more anonymous! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! — BesigedB 17:34, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Sabbatai Zevi
It's good that someone else is taking this article in hand, but I'm afraid that you need to read more carefully when you're editing; I've just had to revert your changes, as many of them changed (sometimes radically) the original meaning, some worsened the style, and some of the others were minor matters of personal style. I'll reinstate all the edits that made genuine improvements. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:13, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Requested pictures
Hi. Glad you liked the photos. Feel free to add any requests to Wikipedia:Requested pictures. I occasionally work trough the list, trying to add what i find. Pre-1923 stuff is especially easy, since the copyright is expired. Also, if you like Wikipedia, why not get a login? It's free, can be as anonymous as without a login, but makes communicating a lot easier! Happy editing -- Chris 73 Talk 11:31, Mar 3, 2005 (UTC)
- ups, my mistake, added a copy of the text to User talk:Italo Svevo -- Chris 73 Talk 11:33, Mar 3, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Moore v. Dempsey
Hey, thanks for adding all the case facts and history to the Moore article - much appreciated. I wanted to ask about your changes to Justice Holmes' opinion. I am not quite sure that Moore specifically overturned Frank v. Mangum; further, I am not at all certain that the article is better off with Justice Holmes' quotes regarding "the fatal end of public passion," etc. taken out. Comments? RidG (talk) 18:34, Mar 10, 2005 (UTC)
- I think it is fair to say that Moore effectively overruled Frank, in that it no longer allowed the mere availability of subsequent appellate review to cure the otherwise uncorrected due process violations at the trial. But we can always elaborate on this point and others.
- I'm also in favor of restoring the quotations; I'm a fan of good judicial rhetoric, particularly from Holmes or Harlan or Jackson. I deleted the earlier text because it was somewhat opaque in context; I'll take a stab at reinserting Holmes' original words. Italo Svevo 19:52, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Just saw your latest corrections on Moore. The above comments are fair, and I do agree with them after re-reading the source opinions of both Moore and Frank (been a while since I've read that last one). Thanks for reinserting the quotes - I think the resultant article is much stronger with the support of the eloquent prose of Holmes.
- Have you considered joining the SCOTUS Project? I've just stumbled upon it about a week ago, and from the looks of it, it doesn't seem like there's much activity. In vain attempts to combat that, I'm soliciting people to get it back in gear ;). Interested? Please let me know on my talk page. Cheers! RidG (talk) 21:03, Mar 10, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] TWU experience
You seem to know a great deal about African-American experience in the TWU, ILWU, and the UE. Could you cite an article or book which has further information on this topic? If you could cite a specific reference for the discrimination accounts you mentioned, I would appreciate it. DJ Silverfish 16:44, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful copyediting. It makes me happy indeed. I will be happier to see you again as a registered user, anyway, please take my appreciation! --Larus.r 16:27, 17 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Take the A Train
I see that, many moons ago, you contributed to Take the A Train, adding a paragraph that said that Billy Strayhorn presented Take the A Train to Duke Ellington in Ellington's dressing room, and Duke was so impressed that he hired Strayhorn on the spot. I took a history of jazz course this last semester, and the version we learned was different: Strayhorn was hired, learned Ellington's arranging style, and then composed Take the A Train. I've commented out your paragraph and started a discussion on the talk page. If you can add anything to this conversation, please do so. —Bkell (talk) 04:27, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
