[edit] Directions
Hello. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Otherwise, people might consider your edits to be vandalism. Thank you. Squirepants101 02:10, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please Use Edit Summaries
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Squirepants101 02:13, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Uniforms
There is no concern among Canadian Forces members instructing cadets about the kit they are issued. They are provided the kit appropriate to their duties including field dress for army and air cadet instructors and shipboard work dress for sea cadet instructors. There is no reason at all that a cadet instructor should not be turned out appropriate to his/her assigned duties. G. 03 Dec 2006. The content deleted does not reflect reality.
[edit] Material for public consumption
Reflect the official organization. Cadets cannot be 19 the age is 12 and not having reached 19th birthday. NL Cadets are not part of the Cadet Organization they are a separate program sponsored soley by the Navy League nothing to do with RC Sea, Army and Air Cadets. The official aim of the program is as revised. The Leagues and the CF spend considerable time discussing terminology .. material for public consumption should reflect that information as consistency will serve everyone best. 24.108.176.42 05:39, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Info for Quadra and Sancho
- To repeat:
Each of you. Quadra and Sancho have a lot to offer fixing these pages and making them reflect well on the Cadet Organization. You have the technical skills. It is also worth considering that members of the CF are constrained in their ability to produce material for the public on any CF or Government program. DAOD 2008, and Q R and O apply. Therefore precision is paramount rather than perception, guess work, or rumour. It would be counterproductive through your well meaning and important effort to cause a CATO or Routine Order to be constructed and issued thereby amplifying those regulations and further restricting participating in this process by members of the organization unless authorized. That is a serious consideration!
How much more productive if we could together create something that is unasailable. Right now these pages are neither original research or of any value to anyone who would want comprehensive, knowledge or information about the Canadian Cadet Organization. 24.108.176.42 01:12, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] For those editing cadet pages
Not sure how many people use this IP address, but would you be able to all check the talk pages? I've posted a few queries re: recent edits. Also, there's a great wacking to-do list on the RCSC talk page... Quadra 00:47, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the edit on the RCAC page... the original ponged - NATO ranks chart, no description of roles, and very little relevance to the RCAC specifically. Perhaps move the whole lot to the CIC page? Quadra 00:10, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Royal Canadian Air Cadets
Thank you for your help with this page. You catch many an error of mine :-) I just thought I'd let you know I'm trying to bring this article to featured article status. The criteria are here: Wikipedia:Featured article criteria. The suggestions that I've been following are here: User:Tony1/How_to_satisfy_Criterion_1a and here: User:AndyZ/Suggestions. You just seem to make good contributions, so if you'd like to do more than corrections, those are the criteria that we could work towards. Thanks again. Sancho McCann 06:21, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Royal Canadian Air Cadets
What did you mean by "no conflict - purposefully different" regarding your recent edit to the article? Sancho 07:01, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- There is a specific difference between appointment (the official term) and promotion.
appointed - assigned a job or office. promoted - raised to a higher office. Cadets are not raised one above another, they are assigned a job or office. Cadets have no authority over or above other cadets. It is a very important legal difference when parents might consider litigation should thier child not be appointed (promoted) or disappointed (demoted).24.108.176.42 02:24, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Then what does the "purposely different" part mean? How do these documents not conflict with each other? Sancho 02:07, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] An account
Hello. Because you are a very strong editor of the Cadets movement, I would like you to consider making an account. Somebody else may use the computer you have, and so, may also get you blocked. An account is the step to stop someone vandalizing. Your Grace Lord Sir Dreamy of Buckland tm 21:52, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you edit without a username, your IP address (24.108.176.42) is used to identify you instead.
In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}}

[edit] Requirement for editors to have permission from the Canadian Forces
Regarding this edit, there is no requirement for Theosaul to obtain permission from the Canadian Forces to edit Canadian Forces related articles on Wikipedia. He may not even be in the Canadian Forces, and therefore it may be impossible for him to "consult a higher authority". No editor, when editing Wikipedia, is publishing on behalf of the Canadian Forces, Theosaul included. Sancho 05:56, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] No legal threats
Please read Wikipedia:No_legal_threats. I feel that this edit comes close to stepping outside the bounds of that policy. Also, the regulation that you quote only applies to Canadian Forces members, not every editor on Wikipedia. Sancho 07:10, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
