[edit] History
7|22 was founded in 1995 by Bill Willits and Louie Giglio.[1] It started as a six-week experiment in the spring of 1995. Due to the success, it was permanently established in the fall of 1995. The study was originally hosted at Dunwoody Baptist Church in Dunwoody, Georgia, and was moved to North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, in 1998. Giglio continued on as the primary speaker until 2005, when he left to focus on other projects.[2] Starting in October 2007, the study moved to Buckhead Church in Atlanta, Georgia. 7|22 temporarily met only once a month in the Fall of 2007 during the first months at their new home, Buckhead Church but is now meeting every Tuesday night.
[edit] Name
The name is a reference to 2 Samuel 7:22: "How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears." (from the New International Version)
