Every single time in the last year I've tried to just quick-edit a page I've found the IP address blocked by one or other of the wikipedia admins. I have an account, but it's extremely galling to find the blocked page and have to log in to make a 2-line edit. The current block is more than 5 weeks long, that's excessive, most idiots make one or two stupid edits and then go back to high school, blocking 299,999 people for 5 weeks because of the actions of one moron is excessive, a day or two would be just fine. If wikipedia wishes to support anonymous edits then blocking obviously shared IPs for weeks is unreasonable, if you want everyone who edits to have an account, that's fine with me, but if you're going to support anonymous edits, stop blocking whole countries because of the actions of a few people. Alternatively start running wikipedia on a different port than 80 which would allow people to avoid proxy servers and expose their real IP address"
