[edit] SI and binary units
There is a very (, very, very) lengthy and contentious discussion at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (dates and numbers) on the subject of SI and binary units, and what Wikipedia should use. There is, however, a consensus that changing Wikipedia articles to use the "other" unit is generally not acceptable, and repeated efforts to do so will be treated as edit warring, and will result in your being blocked from editing. -/- Warren 00:08, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes. You might want to check the edit history of Bondwell. It wasn't me who changed them: [1]. I restored the previous version and made some minor character case corrections. Note that Fnagaton reverted my edit promptly claiming vandalism. Fnagaton knows the rules damn well and he also knows for sure that I did not commit vandalism. This wasn't a slip. I also really have to wonder what prompted User:DavidPaulHamilton to intervene. I'm all too familiar with this kind of action. --217.87.83.146 (talk) 00:40, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
I see no justification for this edit. The anonymous user had corrected a mistake in the use of binary units. That is not vandalism. I support the request to restore the page to before that edit. I cannot restore it myself because the page is protected. Thunderbird2 (talk) 10:37, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Short summary of the main point located on the article talk page. The IP user is evading an indefinite ban from editing, since the IP user is not editing in good faith the IP user is making a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia, so the IP user was reverted as a vandal. As the range block request edits show the IP user is a vandal. I would advocate removing all edits by this IP user as well as all his other IP edits. Fnagaton 16:15, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
