[edit] Vandalism and sabotage
I'm afriad that the IP-adress 217.68.114.116 is a pubilc one. It is shared by all the computers in both the library and the school, where immature little brats use the oppertunity to sabotage for all those who actually are serious about wikipedia. And when vandalism is done, it often results in blocking, and not even those with a user name are able to log in to edit, even if the user names has been used for a long time and always in a proper way. The purpose of the vandalism is actually to try to block the IP-number, just to annoy all the wikipedia users who use it the correct way. 217.68.114.116 12:26, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- I've tried to make sure that all my blocks to this and similar IP addresses leave open the ability to open accounts; I hope that other admins do the same. I thought that I'd done that this time; are you unable to open/use an account? If so, I'll lift and reinstate the block accordingly.
- Which school is this, by the way? I've added a warning template to the top of the page, and a school-block template below this comment. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 12:48, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

- Well, it is not always I have the chance to log into wikipedia using that adress, but sometimes it is possible to log in using an account and sometimes not (the vandals are creating accounts too). The school is located in Sandnes, Norway, by the way. Thanks for the effort. Rhynchosaur 11:06, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Due to persistent vandalism, editing by anonymous users from your school or institution's IP address is currently disabled. If you are logged in but still unable to edit, please follow these instructions. To prevent abuse, account creation at this address may be temporarily disabled. If accounts need to be created at school for class projects, please have your teacher or network administrator contact us (with reference to this IP address) at unblock-en-l from an email address listed on your school's website. Thank you. -- {Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you!} |
