Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 00:41, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pottery articles

While you seem to have some knowledge of this field, your attitude and approach is in need of improvement. There are many policies and procedures on Wikipedia, among the most important are to maintain a neutral point of view on the article, to provide sources when you add or delete significant material, and to work toward concensus with other editors on the content of the article. Wikipedia also has a policy against attacking others and asserting your personal point of view. So far you have deleted, sniped and criticized and asserted your personal opinion on existing articles and material. Consequently, I have reverted some of your material. Believe me, others will also revert if the material fails to follow Wiki procedures. If you want to work here, learn the rules and work with others. Remember all those lessons we all should have learned in kindergarten. They all apply here. WBardwin 00:49, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

My personal opinions have been kept to the discussion pages. From articles I have only removed irrelevant and incorrect information. Having not attended kindergarten I am unaware of "those lessons we all should have learned" but I would say that preaching about the improvement of attitudes strikes of hypocrisy at best, and more likely nears "attacking others." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.44.81.7 (talk)

Your assertion: "I have only removed irrelevant and incorrect information & it does not belong in the article." -- this is your "opinion" about the material in question! In my opinion, the material is useful and should remain. Other editors of these articles have agreed to this material in the past. A discussion of material leads to concensus of opinion, a Wikipedia virtue. Definitions on pottery terms, believe me, are very flexible and variable. For example: "Leather hard" has several definitions depending on the pottery tradition and methodology. In the articles, you can talk about, compare and contrast the different definitions but don't assert that your definition is the one and only truth. That is a personal POV and should be discussed with others. WBardwin 01:48, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Please stop quoting me out of context. "it does not belong in the article" refers to me noting that my opinion does not belong in an article. Why are you highlighting it here? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.44.81.7 (talk) 06:47, August 20, 2007 (UTC)
