Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome!

Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. Yuser31415 03:24, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding edits to Chendo

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, 217.129.67.28! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule img[0-9]+\.imageshack\.us/img[0-9]+/.*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|svg), is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links guidelines for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Shadowbot 22:00, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Please stop adding inappropriate links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and will be removed. Thanks. Shadowbot 22:09, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi! I'm a real person (named Ken). The above entries are not from a real person; rather, they're from an automated spam-removing program that was written by a real person. The program was concerned about the imageshack links you added to the Chendo article, and actually I am too. The issue with these images is that posting them here may violate someone's copyright. If this is not the case (e.g. if you own the copyright, or the images are in the public domain), please upload them into Wikipedia so that users won't have to go to an external source to get them.
Thanks! -- Ken g6 22:49, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
On a second look, it appears you're not responsible for the images. I'm tracking down whodunnit now, and I'll let the bot's author know when I'm done.
Sorry! -- Ken g6 22:56, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Yes indeed, your edit summaries rather stand out on the recent changes list. And not in a good way. Also consider Wikipedia:Assume good faith. Not everyone you're shrieking at is a vandal. Just correct them without insulting them, unless there is a definite indication that they are maliciously changing things. vlad§inger tlk 02:39, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Very well, you were justified in reverting the changes, and the user in question is most likely a vandal. Just ease up on the caps, okay. vlad§inger tlk 02:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about being snippy. Hope you keep contributing as you have been doing. vlad§inger tlk 16:31, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] August 2007

Please stop adding unreferenced controversial biographical content to articles, as you did at John Mosquera. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. -- Matthew_hk tc 06:52, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Raul Bravo

Hi Vasco. I never accused you of anything! You just added a section which wasn't good English, and seemed to remove a flagicon. I didn't accuse you of adding this section in question either, it just seemed like an unconstructive edit. But since you have found there is no reference to an own goal, feel free to delete it, if you haven't already done. Feel free to write back. -JacќяМ ¿Qué? 04:32, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

It's all sorted now. Sorry for the misunderstanding, and any confusion I may have caused! I notice you're pretty new to Wikipedia, so if there's any questions you want to ask, feel free! Don't forget to sign your comments with ~~~~. Also, may I suggest you create a user account, as your edits are very helpful here at Wikipedia. Happy editing! -JacќяМ ¿Qué? 15:58, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kevin Phillips (footballer)

Please do not remove the {{0}} from football infoboxes, as you did with Kevin Phillips (footballer). These are needed for correct alignment of the apps and goals. If you need further explanation on how they work, please let me know. Cheers. --Jameboy 14:21, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Roudolphe Douala

Hi. I reverted your change to Roudolphe Douala and then reverted myself, restoring your edit. Both of us are wrong.

Sources can't seem to agree how this fellow's name should be spelled. If you look at the external links, BBC says Roudolphe, Soccerbase says Rodolphe, a French publication says Rudolphe - but nothing says "Rudolph" as you wrote in the article.

I suggest you figure out what is the most reliable source (Soccerbase?) and go with that.

If you want to change the title of the article, you have to get a real Wikipedia account. Anonymous editors can't do that. If you don't want to register, I can change the title for you once you settle on the correct spelling. =Axlq 14:43, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Michael Mols

Hi there, thanks for your message in my talk page. For Dutch football statistics, but also for a lot of other competitions, you can find very reliable information on vi.nl. That's where I get my information from. I also have the recently released season magazine at home to verify. Knurftendans 15:36, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Please do not delete content from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to John Buttigieg. Your edits do not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use Wikipedia:Sandbox for test edits. Thank you. Rjd0060 01:18, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.

  • Before removing mass amounts of information from a page, you need to create a discussion on that articles Talk Page. If agreed, and you have no objections, then you may proceed. Wikipedia is run by Consensus, and you cannot just make major changes like that because of what "you" believe. - Rjd0060 01:29, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fernando Navarro Corbacho

Hi. I got your message on my talk page. I'm a little confused by it. :) My note on the talk page of Fernando Navarro Corbacho and my tag for expert attention both date from 13 August. Your edits to the page seem to date from 5 September. (You can see the edit history here.) Have you edited the page at another time? --Moonriddengirl 01:10, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I got your response on my talk page. :) I don't know why the tag didn't show for you when you edited the page the first time. Maybe it was some kind of computer glitch? This is what the article looked like before I edited it on August 13th. I organized that information to the best of my ability, but I know nothing about football and so wanted somebody who did to make sure that I had organized the material correctly, particularly since I didn't know what to do with the information I moved to the talk page. I placed the tag on August 13th. The page history shows that nobody edited the article between your apparent first edit and today, when I went to the page to remove that tag. I can understand why you might be upset if it looked like your work was being questioned without explanation. :) However, unless you edited the page under one of the log-in names in the history, it seems like until today your contributions were the most recent to the page. --Moonriddengirl 16:32, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. :) Hope you have a good week, too! --Moonriddengirl 18:14, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Qyntel Woods

HI MONTCHAV, THIS IS VASCO FROM PORTUGAL...

Thanks for helping me in QYNTEL WOODS' (basketball player) article. Can you please explain me how do link references in articles?

THANKS AGAIN, HAVE A GOOD WEEK, GREETINGS VASCO AMARAL - --217.129.67.28 14:31, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

No problem, I am happy to help. What you did here was fine, but the proper way to make the reference appear is to add a ==References== header towards the bottom of the page, and then type {{reflist}}. This way your references will appear at the bottom of the page. --Montchav 14:36, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
What do you mean when you say "how do link references in articles" - do you want the same link to be used as a reference for more than one sentenecs? --Montchav 14:36, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
See WP:REF for more information --Montchav 14:38, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Appreciation

HI THERE AGAIN MONTCHAV, THANKS AGAIN FOR HELPING!!!

Your doubt is just a case of bad English on my part. I said "how do link references in articles?" when i meant "how TO link references in articles?". Maybe it will sound just the same, but i will lighten you fears by saying i understood what you explained and how you did it.

Thanks again, greetings from PORTUGAL, VASCO AMARAL - --217.129.67.28 14:43, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hello there - help please!!!

Hello MONTCHAV MY FRIEND, THIS IS VASCO FROM PORTUGAL!!!

I need your help. Tried to insert references to JORGE ANDRADE (PORTUGUESE FOOTBALLER) regarding trivia (no vandalism) that i created, copied a reflist from the QYNTEL WOODS article (remember the great teammwork) and it does not appear in ANDRADE'S page!!!

Could you visit his article and try to arrange the reflist, my man? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!! HAVE A GREAT WEEK, GREETINGS FROM PORTUGAL - --217.129.67.28 21:19, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

No problem - all you need is a / in the second <ref> as I did here. --Montchav 21:27, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Carsten Ramelow do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: 'youtube\.com' (link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w__l_hWRG3k&feature=related) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image or a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

Hello VASCO, this is user 202.75.80.182,

According to your reference, I like to apologize about my edits as you referred. But I just want to know. What is the meaning of adding 22 goals on Spanish cup? I only stated that he scored 1 goal for the league, but 0 for CUP. Are you trying to VANDALISE the article before saying I'm trying to add silly edits? If you say YES, I will forgive you, because you only put 22 goals on CUP section. If you say NO, FUCK off.

Anyway, I stated that he scored 1 goal, because I think that goal is a good goal. You are welcome to give me any comments on my talk section, but don't give me any nonsense, such as it's just an own goal, or OWN goals are BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Thank You.

From China, a nice week,
