Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. As a member of the Wikipedia community, I would like to remind you of Wikipedia's neutral-point-of-view policy for editors, which you appear to have violated at Newburgh (city), New York. In the meantime, please be bold and continue contributing to Wikipedia. Thank you! Daniel Case 18:16, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

With regards to your comments on Newburgh (city), New York: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. "Do not make personal attacks anywhere in Wikipedia. Comment on content, not on the contributor. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users." Please keep this in mind while editing. Thanks. Daniel Case 18:16, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

No template warning this time, whoever you are. The Newburgh Wikipedia page is an encyclopedia article. It is not to be used as a forum for settling or carrying on political disputes. Whether the county funds housing elsewhere adequately or not is not relevant to the article. Besides, we must maintain a neutral point of view here. If you insist on continuing to edit this way, and revert previously deleted material, I will move to have you blocked from editing as per WP:VAND or WP:3RR. Daniel Case 19:32, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] City of Newburgh

Wikipedia is not an opinion forum. We have to keep a neutral point of view, and provide reliable sources for the facts in articles.

I am familiar with Newburgh too ... I covered the city as a reporter for a couple of years, and I don't disagree with what you are saying. But an encyclopedia article is not the place to make this point. There are several opinion forums linked via the external links section. Take it there ... you'll probably have more of an impact. I thought you were leaving me alone.

I would really suggest that if you want to put the information in that you're so intent on putting in, first set yourself up with an actual account as I did a long time ago (If you remember me from my reporting days, please identify yourself as well so we can be civil to each other. As it is, if you keep using the language you do you risk running afoul of the no personal attacks policy). I know that you get your access from Bway.net and post from ... New York City! And to think 12 miles away and visiting Newburgh quite frequently, I don't know what you know from down in the Big Apple).

Anons who do what you're doing get less breaks from other users when we have to resolve disputes. Then find some online sources that support what you're saying, and put links to them in the article (between the two brackets). And make sure you get the county's point of view on this one in there, too (see WP:NPOV again).

A statement like "but they've done nothing to guarantee affordable housing elsewhere in the county" is inherently POV. Certainly the county would say that it has. If you have specific facts, they would be better.

I do remember that at one point, in terms of the city's unemployment rate, it was the worst of any city in the state. However, your point about the sourcing and weasel words there is well taken, so I'll take it out until I can find some sources. Daniel Case 22:34, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
