Please stop creating the article at TOP 1000 SCIENTISTS FROM THE BEGINNING OF TIME TO 2000 AD by Philip Barker. First of all, the title is not in compliance with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style, but also, each time you create it, there is nothing encyclopedic in the articles. If you continue to create nonsensical articles, given the other problems brought up on this page, I will block this IP address. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 18:29, Jan 27, 2005 (UTC)
- I only meant to alert you to the fact that your bizarre editing style might cause someone to think you are a vandal. I cannot myself judge if you are one or not. However, I must say that you need to become more familiar with the practices of Wikipedia, in order to make your articles useful and readable. Otherwise, you will be causing more work for editors than you are helping. For example, please title your articles in accordance with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Almost no articles should be created in all caps, as you have done several times, unless they are for acronyms of some sort. Also, please separate your sentences with spaces- you are not putting any spaces in between the period and the next sentence, making the sentences gramatically incorrect, and difficult to read; another editor will have to waste valuable time fixing or reverting all of your erroneous edits. Also, make some effort to wikify your articles. All of the articles that I have seen you create have no links whatsoever. Finally, I notice that you have created a user account at User:Jfconnolly. Why are you still editing without logging in? I suggest you log in, and sign your posts so people don't have to look at the edit history to see who they're talking to. You can sign your posts with the following "--~~~~~". I suggest you look at some of the helpful links that Arm provided above, and that you get used to editing the wiki in accordance with our policies. If English is not your first language, maybe you would be better served by editing a wikipedia in your own language. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 19:39, Jan 27, 2005 (UTC)
- OK. I do hope that you make an effort to improve your editing. However, I notice that you still made the same mistakes that I mentioned above, which make me slightly skeptical of your claim that you are trying to improve your editing practices, namely:
- You are not logged in as a user
- You are not signing your posts
- You are not putting spaces after your periods
- You are not putting a blank line in between new paragraphs, causing them to run into the previous paragraph (you did the same thing last time you commented on my talk page, causing your comment to run into another user's).
- I don't have a lot of time to spend just helping you learn how to edit the wikipedia. All of the links given to you have this information, and I have spelled out a lot of the steps you need to take, none of which you have acted on. I hope you do continue to improve your style, but if you do not, and you continue to make harmful edits that could be seen as vandalism, you may be blocked. Good luck with all of that, cheers, DropDeadGorgias (talk) 20:22, Jan 27, 2005 (UTC)
