This host, nts-217.133-167-216.nts-online.net, is registered to NTS Communications, an Internet service provider through which numerous individual users may connect to the Internet via proxy. This IP address may be reassigned to a different person when the current user disconnects.
For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases, you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism, in which case, please see here.
If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user.
Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.
Note: In the event of vandalism from this address, abuse reports may be sent to your network administrator for further investigation. |
[edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. [edit] RE: Shamrock, Texas
Thank you for the message [1] you left on my talk page.
- The answer to your first question is located at Talk:Shamrock, Texas#The Decision of an experienced and neutral Administrator on the Appropriateness of Some Edits. It details exactly why the additions to the Shamrock article are inappropriate and also links to the relevant official Wikipedia policies and guidelines.
- To answer your second question, 216.167.133.217 (talk · contribs) was blocked for 31 hours because of this harassment. I will not tolerate a threat to "hit" (or inflict any sort of physical violence on) another editor.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues. --Kralizec! (talk) 05:33, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

- Your explanation sounds reasonable. If 216.167.133.217 (talk · contribs) were to file an {{unblock}} request (as detailed on User talk:216.167.133.217) that (1) explained the nature of the misunderstanding and (2) promised to proof-read future posts so as to avoid mixups like this, I am sure the block would be lifted early. As it stands, the block duration was 31 hours and will be automatically lifted at approximately 2:26am EDT on March 23rd. --Kralizec! (talk) 16:54, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
