[edit] Dingli roads
we are wondering if the lists of roads should be deleted - please weigh in if you wish . 「ѕʀʟ·✎」 02:05, 23 September 2007 (UTC) I do not agree as they are truly unique in Malta —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.165.168.50 (talk • contribs)
- Hello, thanks for replying. You don't agree that they should be removed or? They are unique but not necessarily notable - in any event, kindly click here and add a note after the roads, I think it would be good to get your perspective. 「ѕʀʟ·✎」 05:45, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't know where are you from and if you have ever visited our village. I live here and I know what our thoughts are. Truly I tell you that in our small village we feel very pleased that our roads are related to our religion. I am sort of taking care that this window upon our village will be as informative and welcoming as possible so that whoever comes in will get a taste of our life. Thanks :)
- Indeed, I have visited your village a number of times, all very pleasant, by foot, bus, car, and push scooter. ( Ngħixt fl-Imsida sena waħda u wkoll mort Malta ftit drabi oħrajn … ) I would get snacks from a confectioner at the joining of two streets that leads to the cliffs. Is it true that a 19-year old Ian Borg was elected mayor? We couldn't confirm that, but it seems notable as well. As to the names of the streets, the link above and here will take you to the main discussion that is happening. It would be good to discuss this there, so it can be coordinated across other Maltese articles. But very briefly:
- 1. there is the question of whether lists of roads (in general) should be in the village's articles at all, otherwise. WIkipedia is not an atlas. Perhaps if it was woven into a description somehow? Mind you, I'm hardly dictating policy. Just listing the points that were under discussion. Thanks for joining into it.
- 2. I understand that you are pleased. I'm wondering if a list is the best way to communicate that. For example one might not be familiar with the connection of Salesians. Perhaps some explanation, instead would be: Dingli residence are pleased that many roads are named to reflect the Roman Catholic faith, such as .. ( and name a couple of them).
- 3. I think this is true for other areas within Malta, and may be worth some mention under Malta, to which the section in Dingli could refer to.
- That's.. that's enough for now. You might consider creating a user account as I mentioned. But in any event good to talk to you. 「ѕʀʟ·✎」 08:10, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
