[edit] May 2007

Thank you for your contribution to Oxford, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Our readers are looking for serious articles and will not find joke edits amusing. Remember, millions of people read Wikipedia, so we have to take what we do here seriously. If you'd like to experiment with editing, use the Sandbox to get started. Thank you. Pax:Vobiscum 12:05, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Sarah Jessica Parker, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ... discospinster talk 12:22, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] To Scribble Monkey

Bicester Community College objections.

We have no idea who you are and with what authority you added this entry.

Any article published about Bicester Community College has to be agreed with the Headteacher first. Had this been done we might have avoided the unfortuanate and derogatory edits that were made earlier this year. As far as I know, you have not been in contact with the Headteacher and have not had the links - which I keep removing - cleared for publication.

I did not add this entry, although I have occasionally edited it. Your permission, or that of the headteacher, is not required to write about the school. Your school website should serve that purpose. However, if you believe that anything that I have written is derogatory, please highlight it here for discussion. The edit that you currently keep reverting appears innocuous to me, as it consists largely of categorisation and links to Ofsted and DCSF websites. ~ Scribble Monkey (talk) 13:45, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

But you still have not said who you are.......

Because, it is of no importance. You, however have not explained what you object to in the article. Whether you like it or not, the College, if you do indeed represent it, cannot lock down the article. If you continue to arbitrarily revert genuine edits to the article your IP address will eventually get blocked. ~ Scribble Monkey (talk) 14:58, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
SM is correct - Bicester have no control over the content, and indeed content has to be cited from third party sources (ie not Bicester). -- roundhouse0 (talk) 15:58, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Moreover SM's version is far superior, and contains nothing controversial that I can see. -- roundhouse0 (talk) 16:08, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 3 Revert Rule Warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Bicester Community College. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. --Jh12 (talk) 15:15, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

It is pretty clear from the analysis of the IP at the top of this page that we are Bicester Community College. It is also clear that you (whoever is in charge of this site) are very willing to add content but do not check that content is correct. Remarks were added earlier in the year which alerted the College to the uncontrolled nature of Wikipedia entries and were sufficiently defamatory for me to recommend to the Headteacher that further action ought to be considered.

Anyone can edit Wikipedia. Unreferenced defamatory content is usually removed straightaway. Your best plan would be to get a username to distinguish you from the many (eg the vandals mentioned above) who can use the school i.p. Certainly Bicester have no veto over content. -- roundhouse0 (talk) 17:35, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
