From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. In particular, the recent changes to Book of Mormon. studerby 09:59, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. --Guinnog 22:18, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Regardless of where you come from, we have standards here. Please review WP:CIVIL; edit summaries containing 'moron', and calling other editors 'mother-fucker', are simply not conducive to building an encyclopedia. Please remember this. --Guinnog 22:37, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism review
I've reviewed all the contributions coming from this IP and every one (with one possible exception) have been vandalism. In the possible exception, the word "third" was changed to "forth" (sic), significantly changing the meaning in that spot. The change was unsourced. We have these fine contributions from this IP:
- The addition of "fuckwits" to Joseph Smith, Jr., with edit summary "clarification"
- Vandalism of Book of Mormon, with edit summary "vandalism"
- Changing Advertising Standards Authority to redirect to Penis, with edit summary "rofl"
- In Talk: Advertising Standards Authority, the message "Aren't I a genius? It took well over 5 hours for my vandalism to be discovered. Me 1, Wikipedia 0!"
- In East Coast Main Line, changing the phrase "..a number of serious incidents resulting in death.." to "..a number of dead funny incidents resulting in death.." (italics added)
- the aforementioned "third" to "forth" change
- a message to User talk:Guinnog with summary "Listen motherfucker"
- and finally, clearing the talk page warnings and adding various whinings about being blocked
studerby 23:15, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- What you don't mention is that the third to fourth change (addmittedly there was a spelling mistake) was a correction of an untrue fact (and check the edit summary of that article) that had been there for god knows how long, and that everything before today wasn't me. The message to guinnog was tongue in cheek, which again is pretty damn obvious if you read it. As for the ECML article, I accept that perhaps I deserve some criticism for that but I was in the Selby rail disaster fer christ's sake! 212.158.254.22 23:19, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

- That doesn't make what you did OK. I vote you stay blocked, and use the time to mature enough to use wikipedia properly. HawkerTyphoon 00:18, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

- This is totally ridiculous. I am making an effort here, toning down my langauge and engaging with you when I could simply disconnecr and reconnect! This process seems explicitly designed to prevent users from being reinstated. 212.158.254.22 00:24, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

- I made ONE vandalistic edit, the rest were not me. BTW, I've been reading up on policy while waiting and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Blocking_policy#Instructions_to_admins links to

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Policy_enforcement which is apparently defunct. So already you've lost one useful contribution (i.e. me correcting that). My speciality is railways and I could have done many corrections by now (in fact I was going to improve the clapham junction article signficantly when I discovered I was blocked). You guys really are shooting yourselves in the feet, looking for any excuse to validate your hasty blocking decision. 212.158.254.22 00:42, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

- Well, when the IP gets unblocked, you might want to create yourself an account (see that "sign in/create account" link in the upper right corner? If you can't now, you'll be able to when you're unblocked). That way, we won't confuse your useful contributions and vandalism(s) with anybody else's... Meanwhile, until an admin decides to hear your plea, or decides that "indefinite" is too long (which it is), you'll just have to wait. I can't help you, I'm not an admin. Sometimes life's just hard... studerby 01:56, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- The block was imposed by Pschemp, and I have endorsed it. The IP is static, and as such all contributions have come from the same internet connection. The user is to remain on an indef block for personal attacks and vandalism as realised in the contribution history.
- To the User: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, your contributions have been in no way helpful. You are taking a reactionary tone to valid warnings in this discussion, and have engaged in vandalism and personal attacks as evidenced by your contributions. Should this IP rotate, the block will be removed. Teke (talk) 04:22, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

- It was not very difficult to get around this 'ban' - press disconnect and reconnect on my broadband modem. Which should be a hint that you are wrong about the ip begin static, just as you are wrong about everything else.Listen dickheads, this ip is dynamically assigned by my isp (bulldog) whenever there is a reconnnection for some reason. You seem to have a cosy little club going on, backing each other up no matter how unreasonable your actions have been. I for one am digusted. 84.9.103.245 10:56, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

- The anon IP was blocked indefinitely. This is inappropriate for anon IPs. I have removed the indefinite block and replaced it with a shorter block. --Durin 14:03, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
