Attention:

This IP address, 210.0.177.84, is registered to King George V School, and may be shared by multiple users. If the organization uses proxy servers or firewalls, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.

For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another and a block may be shared by many. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases, you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism; if so, please see here.

If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user. Alternatively, you can list the IP at Wikipedia:WikiProject on XFFs.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Note: In the event of vandalism from this address, abuse reports may be sent to your network administrator for further investigation.
IT staff who want to monitor vandalism from this IP address can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

This IP has been used for persistent vandalism. The user has been unblocked due to possible collateral damage; however, any abusive edits made by this IP should be reverted on sight, and the IP should be blocked immediately, for a period of time deemed appropriate. If a block is placed, please notify User:Ral315 after doing so. Ral315 WS 06:03, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

Vandalism continues. Why can't this be blocked? --Wetman 02:11, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I've just hit it with a 15 minute block but we prefure not to block schools in the long term due the effects on other studentsGeni 02:47, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] May 2005

This user is very persistent in repeatedly vandalizing Garden of Eden in uncreative ways (5 times so far?). We should keep an eye on this page. Emiao 05:13, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

Blocked for two hours. Rhobite 05:18, May 9, 2005 (UTC)
The deference shown the King George V School in Hong Kong,([school website with mailing address) is misplaced: there are no serious edits from this IP in the last months. This should be blocked permanently. Have letters been sent to the Headmaster? --Wetman 05:34, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
This is silly. We don't need to put up with 10 months of vandalism from an address that isn't used by any real editors. I have blocked the IP for a period of one year. I will email the school administrators to inform them of this fact. Isomorphic 06:58, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
I sent an email explaining the block to the school's "general inquiries" email. I considered emailing the principal, but there's not really much need. Isomorphic 07:15, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
I've been trying to be gentle but I do agree with a long-term block. If all the edits from this school are vandalism, there should be some upper limit to our tolerance. Rhobite 03:24, May 10, 2005 (UTC)
If you read above, I allready emailed them giving them a warning to control the students. They didn't respond. BrokenSegue 03:40, 23 May 2005 (UTC)
Strange. The block seems to have been lifted. Is there a way to find out who made that decision, or whether it was some kind of bug? Isomorphic 06:29, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
See [1]. Since our May 9 blocks overlapped, my two hour block took precedence over your year long block. Call it a bug or a feature.. it's a known quirk of the blocking system. I think that the longest block should take precedence, but that's up to the developers I guess. Feel free to reblock. Rhobite 06:34, May 25, 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation. Not a big deal. No recent vandalism, and the couple edits today looked sort of legitimate. We'll see how it goes. If the vandalism starts again, the address should be blocked long-term. Isomorphic 06:39, 25 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] June 2005

After considering this a little, I agree with Isomorphic. I blocked for 3 months. If this school wants their students to edit here they should e-mail me or another admin. Rhobite 07:31, Jun 6, 2005 (UTC)

As a former student of King George V School I'm appalled that this continues to happen to Wikipedia, and I'm in support for blocking edits to the site. This is giving the school a black eye and it's something that is hard to address from the school's end.

Students should not be editing these pages from school in any case since it would be a waste of school resources and their lesson time. I will attempt to address the school as well on your behalf as well. 14 August 2005

[edit] Your edits to September 18

Dear 210.0.177.84,
Some of your edits on the page September 18 have been undone by PseudoBot, a robot built to keep the date pages tidy. The problems are:

The person you added doesn't seem to have a Wikipedia page.

If the page exists, check that you've spelled and capitalized the name the same way as the article, and try again. If it doesn't yet exist, read this page carefully before creating it. In particular, you shouldn't create a page about yourself or anyone you know personally. If this bot has got it wrong (as can unfortunately happen), please accept its author's apologies, and (if you would like) leave a message on this talk page with the details, so it can be improved. PseudoBot (talk) 02:40, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
