[edit] Proposed deletion of Lillian Eggers

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Lillian Eggers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Richhoncho (talk) 05:22, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Brighton (store)

A tag has been placed on Brighton (store) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. J.delanoygabsadds 02:59, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Brighton (store)

A tag has been placed on Brighton (store), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Brighton (store) a page you have created yourself. Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Brighton (store). Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. iridescent 03:32, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Brighton (store) has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

[edit] Image source problem with Image:John C. Pomeroy.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:John C. Pomeroy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:46, 17 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 03:46, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Reply: Already taken cared of. I placed the tag

and declare the image copyright holder myself.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Helene Whitney.JPG

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Helene Whitney.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Polly (Parrot) 22:58, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:Helene Whitney.JPG

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Helene Whitney.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. iridescent 00:03, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

I do not believe for an instant that you are the copyright holder of a photograph of an actress who retired in 1940. If you are, please provide some evidence of this, via OTRS if necessary. iridescent 23:58, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Please don't remove the notice from the image while the image is under discussion. If you want to comment on its copyright status, please do so at Wikipedia:PUI#Image:Helene_Whitney.JPG. Thanks. iridescent 11:54, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to George Sanders (disambiguation) has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. [edit] George Sanders page moves

Please stop moving these pages to nonsense titles. NawlinWiki (talk) 00:59, 30 May 2008 (UTC) Sorry, I didn't mean to move them to nonsense titles. I was just trying to do when you type in the name, the disambugation page displays. And, I changed the title of George Sanders (actor) (1906 - 1972) to a more appropriate title of George Sanders (British actor).

  • Thanks for the note. I've reverted the title back to George Sanders (actor). Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions, you use the simplest title necessary to identify the subject, and there are no other articles on actors named George Sanders. More importantly, if you go to the article and click the "What links here" tab on the left, you will see a whole bunch of articles that link to George Sanders (actor). Moving the article would mean going to all those articles and changing the incoming links. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:11, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Marilyn Monroe1926-1962.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Marilyn Monroe1926-1962.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Selafim Cash (talk) 11:37, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Marilyn Monroe1926-1962.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Marilyn Monroe1926-1962.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Selafim Cash (talk) 11:38, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Marilyn Monroe1926-1962.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Marilyn Monroe1926-1962.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 11:37, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
