20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection is a series of budget-priced compilation CDs published by the Universal Music Group. Releases in the series represent artists, genres and labels of all types; the first release was in 1999[1].

Most of the CDs contain between 10 and 15 tracks. Some subjects, including prolific recording artists such as James Brown, Cher and KISS, have more than one volume in the series.

In October 2006 Universal Music Enterprises announced a move away from jewel boxes to a new type packaging that is completely green[2] The sleeves are now made out of recyable paperboard; the tray is now made out of a recyclable and biodegradable material called PaperFoam[2]. There are no liner notes included[3]; they can be downloaded at a special website for the series[2][4][3] Albums with the new packaging were first available at Wal-Mart for the first three months and then were made available to other stores after that period[2]. Rob Zombie was the first artist whose album was released in the new packaging[2].
