20 Forthlin Road
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
20 Forthlin Road is a National Trust property in south Liverpool, Merseyside, England.
The house was built by the local authority during the 1920s, and Sir Paul McCartney lived there for several years before he rose to fame with The Beatles in the early 1960s. It was also the home of his brother, Michael McCartney (also known as Mike McGear).
The property has been in the ownership of the National Trust since 1995. The Trust markets the house as "the birthplace of the Beatles", since this is the place where The Beatles composed and rehearsed their earliest songs. It was also the birthplace of the group The Scaffold, of which Michael McCartney was a member.
The Magical Mystery Tour stops at the house for tourists to view the house from the outside. A visit of inside is run by a different tour group.
