[edit] Your edits to Victoria Principal

Hello. You made this edit which I undid. The problem is not simply with changing the year to 1946, but that it changed the text of the note. The note stated that the source ("Dallas Interviews") listed 1950. You can look at that source yourself - it lists 1950. You can't change the note text to state that the source lists 1946. If you think 1950 is in error, then you need to find a reliable source that lists 1946. The best sources are official biographies and news articles from CNN, BBC, NYTimes, or the subject's official site. Blogs, IMDb and unofficial fansites are not good sources for trivia. When two reliable sources conflict, often both conflicting information is listed. Gimmetrow 00:12, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Please don't get discouraged by this. You just need to provide a reliable source for the edit. Ideally, all edits would be backed up by a reliable source, so that Wikipedia content is completely verifiiable. Gimmetrow 06:43, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Please discuss changes to year of birth at Talk:Victoria Principal. Gimmetrow 22:03, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Please, if you choose to "correct" information, provide a reliable source for the corrections. In this case, it's rather doubtful that she was born in Japan to an American serviceman in January, 1945, when the U.S. was still at war with Japan, so a clear, specific citation to that effect is essential. I'm sorry, but "Parade mag several years ago" is not a citation I can verify. Also, please do not change the content of other footnotes to make it appear the sources say something they do not. Gimmetrow 20:29, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Please note, the footnote on Victoria Principal essentially says "Dallas Interviews (as of 2006-12-04) says she was born in 1950". This is a statement about what Dallas Interviews says, and it is verifiably true, whether or not Principal was in actual fact born in 1945 or 1946 or whenever. It is therefore wrong to change the footnote to "Dallas Interviews says she was born in 1945". I've attempted to explain this both here and on the article talk page. From now on, any edits which falsify the footnote will be treated as vandalism. Gimmetrow 20:01, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Please stop removing mention of 1950. There are two references listed for 1950, it should remain. There is a sort of reference for 1946, so it can remain too. 1945 is dubious, and has no citations. It should not be listed without a reference. Gimmetrow 14:06, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Again, there are two references for 1950, and both do say 1950. Do not remove mention of 1950 and make it appear that those two references say 1946. Rather, please provide a genuine citation, to a specific online or print source, for 1946. Without a specific citation for 1946, other editors are likely to remove any mention of 1946 from Victoria Principal again. Gimmetrow 22:43, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Socialist Party of Mexico. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link.
