[edit] An Automated Message from HagermanBot
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 16:24, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Please add a reference
Your recent edit to 3D optical data storage makes some strong claims that need a reference to back them up (in fact, the Call/Recall section was already in need of a reference even before your edit). Please add an appropriate reference (i.e. one that discusses the claims made) from a publically accessible source. I guess this shouldn't pose too much of a problem for you. Thanks. • TheBendster (talk) 16 May 2007, 06:20 (UTC)
[edit] Please refrain from the inapproriate editing of articles
Please do not add unhelpful and unconstructive content to Wikipedia, as you did to 3D optical data storage. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.
Please adhere to the Wikipedia neutral point of view policy and do not attempt to hijack articles for your pwn purposes. If you are able to responsibly add a citation (in order to retain balance between the various companies mentioned) that backs up the claims made for Call/Recall in 3D optical data storage, then this would be appreciated. This is an encyclopedia article, not a forum to list all the publications of the company you work for. • TheBendster (talk) 17 May 2007, 18:47 (UTC)
[edit] reference
I didn't know that the truth is regarded as vandalism Bendster. You need to accept this and move on.
- Truth and vandalism are certinly not mutually exclusive terms. If you go to your local inner-city area I'm sure you will find plenty of graffitti that is both truthful and vandalism! The definition of vandalism as it pertains to Wikipedia edits is "any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia". This describes the edits in question perfectly.
- I don't want to dwell on that since your most recent edits have been much more responsible. However, the reference that you did add may be inappropriate since the proceedings of ODS2007 has not yet been published - and is therefore not suitable to be referenced. I do have the Technical Digest of that meeting in front of me right now (lent by a colleague), but I can't find the paper that you referenced. Can you manage to reference it better, or find an alternative? Also, please remember that the reference and the claims made in the article text should match!
- Thanks. • TheBendster (talk) 27 May 2007, 08:11 (UTC)
[edit] see the post deadline section and proceedings when published
please see and find the postdeadline section and i can fax you the paper from the proceedings as soon as i receive it if you like?
- Thanks, I have found it now. I will fix the reference for you. • TheBendster (talk) 31 May 2007, 08:57 (UTC)
[edit] Please ensure that article content matches the content of the references!
You recently made some edits to 3D optical data storage that resulted in article text that no longer matches the content of the references cited. Please be mindful of the Wikipedia no original research policy and either change the text to match the citation or change the citation to match the text. Since it was you who made the citation in the first place, this should not be a problem for you. Note that papers that have not yet been published are not suitable for citing on Wikipedia. Your edits also raise several other important though slightly less serious concerns, including:
- As an employee of Call/Recall, it is highly unlikely that you are capable of editing Call/Recall-related sections with a neutral point of view, and therefore doing so is very strongly discouraged by the Wikipedia editing guidelines. If you are serious about retaining the integrity of Wikipedia, you would be better off discussing issues relating to Call/Recall in the talk page than editing the article yourself.
- You added a link to a Japanese language news article, that requires a logon to access and does not seem to add any information above what is contained in the other references. Please reconsider the need for this link.
- You canged a precise measurement of bitrate (2.5 Mbps) with something indefinite and subjective "typical CD rates". (As an aside, I think this harms Call/Recall, since to me at least, "CD bitrate" means only ~1 Mbps).
- You upset the balance of the article by inflating the section relating to one corporate entity while ignoring the others. Since this article has suffered from corporate vandalism in the past and this is noted on the talk page, that was a rather irresponsible thing to do.
Please take the time to correct your errors before somebody else has to do so. Thanks in advance. • TheBendster (talk) 2 June 2007, 16:48 (UTC)
