From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The only time Wikipedia looks into identifying information such as IPs is when there's a call for a Checkuser investigation, which ferrets out the root IPs of users. These are not taken lightly and are at WP:RFCU, so don't expect to have your information released by Wikipedia once you get an account.
By editing anonymously, you put your IP address out to the public, risk range-blocking an entire ISP, or getting a proxy blocked.
Don't go on the Wikipedia IRC if you want your IP hidden.

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
