From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This IP is a firewall for NVIDIA and there may be vandals, but also legitimate edits. Please double-check if the edit is legit.

-This is from an NVIDIA employee: I wanted to note that unfortunately, it seems that anyone who access Wikipedia from our workplace gets routed through this IP, so each change probably belongs to a different person. Sorry if some of my co-workers are causing a ruckus. But we aren't the same person.

[edit] True or false??

True or false: what you added to James Madison is serious information that you don't want interpreted as vandalism. 66.245.14.250 00:52, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Response:

My mistake. I had forgotten about the 1873 Currency Certificate of Deposit and the 1865 first-issue gold certificate (both very obscure). But I do believe it should be noted that Madison appeared from 1870 onwards.

I made the same mistake. Sorry about the revert. I'll go back to dealing with real vandalism. Guanaco 01:28, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Thanks :-)

May I suggest that you register with the Wikipedia? You seem like a pretty trust-worthy fellow (contributions look alright) and it would save me a bit of time as I only really scan the non-registered editors for signs of vandalism. Oberiko 01:37, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Moscow Metro terrorist bombing of 1977

The bomb may have been planted on Kurskaya station, but blast definitely happened before Pervomayskaya. The emergency responce was directed to Pervomayskaya station. Please review sources. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.213.198.25 (talkcontribs) .

Please accept my apologies then. I was patrolling the recent changes when I saw your edit, changing the name of the stations. As you can see, this IP has quite a history of vandalism, I assumed this was one of them. Perhaps you should consider signing in for an account on Wikipedia to prevent this kind of problems? Again, Please accept my apologies. -- lucasbfr talk 01:18, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Windows Vista

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did with links to Windows Vista (Vista *|search current). Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. Since Wikipedia uses Nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. -/- Warren 02:20, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edit to Indian Idol

This is to inform you your edit of the Indian Idol page is not appropriate as you cannot add the said blog(see discussion page for Indian Idol) as the external link which could be mistaken by people to be the wikipedia article of the said person. In any case, your addition of the external link to a personal blog whether it belongs to you or not is considered as using wikipedia to market your own blog. Please refrain from adding them back again and again. It will be taken as spamming by you henceforth. Thank you Realdan 18:01, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Ldapsearch

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ldapsearch, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Andareed (talk) 21:47, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
