Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as in Talk:Charles Manson, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. Chuck Sirloin 05:04, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the Winston H. Bostick page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. --Strothra (talk) 21:25, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Regarding Winston Bostick article-No nonsense here. I put it in the discussion section(I hope) as it is all true and factually correct as I lived there and saw all of this. The reason I put it in discussion was to, like other scientists(Edison's biography is a good example, etc) have had the very same problems we all face encroach on their lives and this is part of the human condition. And like many scientists who work in the microworld of particle physics, he was a keen student of nature. One day a flock of birds attracted to the huge dump next door, came over his pond(he lived on a New Jersey farm) and a group of us were walking and he went into a talk on how the self organizing behavior of the birds flying as a flock simulated the wave motion of hydrogen ions in a magnetic field. To Winston, he saw the same laws of physics at work in both the micro and macro-worlds, and he had a gift for that. His area was in creating hot plasma's for early fusion research and he was the first to break a key barrier. The same mathematics is at work in both particle and bird behavior here and it raises some interesting quantum questions for what we see at the macro level in our own world. Once when I walked in the dump with his dog Prince he started coughing the aromatic organics coming up off the slurry pools were so dense. Shortly afterwards it was cited a toxic waste dump and this was on the property directly adjoining his farm on the east. There were settling pools there with chromatographic creep coming up the clay. He had an electric water purifyer in his house I overloaded once breaking it. Because he spent most of his time working in Sandia Labs in Albuquerque back then I had to drag him over to that property to show him as apparently it had expanded fast. Regarding the transformer article, again I meant to put that just in the discussion area around the first time I ever Wikied, but what I meant to say was how the topology of a transformer coil, classic electromagetic and string theory make an indigestible mess, i.e. string theory is likely nothing more than an abstraction. Today, more and more mathematical physicists are coming to this point of view, but it is still in vogue in our teaching institutions. However, even today, nobody really knows what an electric field really is. They can do the calculus to model it fairly well, and even do relativistic adjustments in high energy flux, but out side of that its only described as a bunch of intersecting force vectors. But if you look at it, its really two composite fields in one operating at right angles to each other as electric and magnetic potentials do. Apparently that was immediately flagged as vandalism, but it was meant to generate discussion, and clearly electromagnetism needs a lot of discussion even today. A torroidal(circular) field is a whole different animal than the traditional square transformer field and this goes to the differing topologies, and string theory is wholely centered on complex topologies to say the least. My idea centers around how energy interacts with different forms of itself changing the very topology it exists in and its manifestations of fields(forces). This is a new take on the standard model and its strong, electroweak, and gravity field theorys depending on the kinetic(heat-thermodynamic) environment you are operating in. This is macro-relativity theory revisted, but at the micro-level of particle physics. Transformer shapes are integral to this. Apparently the physicist who works at cern(which is a dedicated user of the standard model in physics) violently disapproved. Yet he would have to agree that particles are really waves, but he would probably disagree that harmonic strings are particles. But he is schooled and skilled working with similar minded others(his universe of colleagues) in one model, the predominant one yes, but one that is showing increasing inabilities to describe what our universe is really made of. This problem is referenced a lot in the new physics. Devotees of both the standard and string models are coming up increasingly short, and this will at some point give genesis to a new model. But we aren't there yet. Winston himself, was thinking in new ways about the standard model himself at a time this wasn't appreciated. Key to all of this, as mammals, our nervous system gave rise to our mathematics, and calculus is really just a projection of how our neurons communicate to model the world we live in and have evolved to allow us to survive in it. That is how we can catch a ball by projecting our own neuronic calculus on the exterior world modeling acceleration and deceleration and adjusting our muscles, our limbs, hands, and fingers to catch a moving object obeying the laws of our planets gravity(if that is what it is). Yet if you read up on quantum mechanics you will get a totally different model of how our world works that is even more accurate but counter-intuitive and very much like statistics, but statistics that have their own reproducible reality. Einstein said God doesn't play dice, and had while considering it refuted quantum math. Yet with what we now know, proven, Einstein was wrong. Consequently the motion of Winston's birds, a measurable behavior in the classical sense, was fully quantum based and yet we were able to see a macro-world demonstration of it in self associated group action(a moving field essentially). Anyways, to make a long story short, the shape or topology defines everything, the field, its units, its interactions, its longevity and that is a radical departure from what cern is working on, particles as being the movers and the shakers. So its easy from that point of view to call anything I say "rubbish" as they have spotlight and the budgets for today. But where is the open inquiry, the pushing the idea a bit futher along? 209.101.236.168 00:14, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
