This host, ca208-ch03-bl03.il-chicago0.sa.earthlink.net, is registered to EarthLink, an Internet service provider through which numerous individual users may connect to the Internet via proxy. This IP address may be reassigned to a different person when the current user disconnects.
For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases, you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism, in which case, please see here.
If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user.
Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.
Note: In the event of vandalism from this address, abuse reports may be sent to your network administrator for further investigation. |

Editing by anonymous users from your shared IP address or address range may be currently disabled. Registered users, however, are still able to edit. [edit] Vandalism
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism, and if you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Removing part of a page with a good-faith reason is not vandalism. You could have reported at WP:AN/3RR, instead you chose to edit war. The world does not end when the m:Wrong Version is up for a few minutes. I know you were reverting in good faith, which is why I made the block short. Contact me on your user talk page next time rather than evading your block, you can still edit it. --Sam Blanning(talk) 23:53, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- If you have a good-faith and reasonable justification for removing a section, it isn't vandalism. He had initiated a discussion. He is quite blatantly not a malicious vandal. The point is, there is never any reason to keep reverting and reverting and reverting. Report them to WP:AN/3RR, wait for them to be blocked, and let someone else revert it. That is the only way consensus, and not willpower, can determine how an article stays. Because I thought you were reverting in good faith, I kept the block period short, and out of fairness I had to give Luo the same period.
- Log back in as User:Jeff Fenstermacher, because I'm blocking your IP to prevent you using it for further evasion. You can still edit User talk:Jeff Fenstermacher while logged in under that account. The block expires in half an hour anyway. If Luo continues edit warring, he will be blocked for the full 24 hours. --Sam Blanning(talk) 00:09, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
If I can jump in briefly...? There's a difference between something being a "common vandal edit" and it being defined as vandalism. I'm not saying that you're totally in the wrong because I am not sufficiently acquainted with the situation to make any judgment either way, but I just wanted to give you a heads-up on that one point for the future. Don't forget to assume good faith. Thanks. :) Hbackman 00:36, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
