[edit] Regarding Vandalism Edits Made In the Last Couple of Months

This IP address belongs to a K-8 school district in the USA. I deeply apologize for the unhelpful edits that some of our students have made, and for the length of time that it took me to notice. Through our logs, we have identified those students, and they will be disciplined according to our Acceptable Use Policy. Our Technology Department, of which I am part of, will be monitoring the contributions made from this IP address and will moderate them. We highly value Wikipedia as an information resource and request that this IP address not be banned. Please contact me with any questions / concerns. Timdearborn 19:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

This is a quick post to verify that I, Tim Dearborn, am located at the IP Address of this talk page. 207.63.115.12 19:43, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I would suggest that you encourage students to create user accounts for doing edits. I believe that blocking only affects anonymous users: even if this IP were to be blocked, students could login and make edits under their own accounts. wrp103 (Bill Pringle) 00:24, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Students Banned - Vandalism will Cease

As a fix until we can better educate our K-8 students, we have blocked them from accessing Wikipedia. There should be no further vandalism from this IP. If there is, do not hesitate to contact me. Timdearborn 18:21, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
