(I describe it as low-grade, because at that time the contribution you falsified was unsigned. Nevertheless, the discussion is an ongoing one with repeated interactions among multi-contribution editors, so forgery was made poorly focused rather than prevented by the lack of signature.) The fact that your intent was not clear is another mitigating circumstance, but your behavior, it not ill-intended, was reckless enough that you get the record and the clarity of notice to "cease and desist" that comes only from a block. ("Reckless" in this case means that a reasonable editor would

find it obvious that "the facts" can be construed quite reasonably in ways that "some facts" cannot, and
would avoid interfering with the other editor's opportunity to express the view implied by that construction.)
