[edit] Welcome

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! [edit] Race of ancient Egyptians

Just about every comment you have made to date on the talk page of the article above is, frankly, completely irrelevant to the article itself. Please place your comments on the appropriate pages. The page above is not the proper location to discuss proposed changes to other articles. Thank you. John Carter 23:32, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

And you actually moved the content of one of my comments from one part of the talk page to another, as is indicated by the existing confused format of the page. Please pay attention to facts, and actually try to address the content of the article itself, rather than continuing your ongoing, completely off-topic, comments. Your primary interest seems to be the article Pan-Africanism. That would likely be the appropriate page for your comments as well. Thank you again. John Carter 23:40, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia policies

You would probably be interested in knowing of the existing policies and guidelines of wikipedia. They include tendentious editing, which states that the same points do not need to be repeated over and over. Also, as an IP whose first edit was October 30, you seem to have an extraordinary regard of your own opinion. And seeing someone calling me "new" when their first edit was yesterday is quite interesting. I wonder if that was your first edit. I hope I am not given reason to request a checkuser, to see if it was. Otherwise, I would suggest you review the policies and guidelines which were posted to you above yesterday. Thank you for your attention to the policies and guidelines of wikipedia. John Carter 23:55, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 23:33, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
