Madeline Force was the SECOND WIFE of John Jacob Astor IV; Ava Lowle Willing (later Lady Ribblesdale) was his FIRST WIFE and the mother of Vincent Astor. Not only is this documented in numerous books, including the new book "When the Astors Owned New York", I know the family, notably Vincent Astor's two surviving nieces.
