[edit] Vince's Bridge - references

I've converted the references in Vince's Bridge to Wikipedia's inline reference format - I see you've put references in some other articles, and it would be good if you could use the format as in Vince's Bridge - it should make things easier! For more infoormation on the referencing method, see here: Template talk:Ref and here: Wikipedia:Footnotes. Hope that helps. WLDtalk|edits 16:04, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes, as far as I know, you done them well-nigh perfectly. It took me over a year to learn that 'little trick', and I'm still learning the ways of doing things round here.

When you get even more sophisticated in referencing, you can use templates like:

The full panoply of citation formats is here: Wikipedia:Citation templates, together with their discussion here: Wikipedia talk:Citation templates.

As the last article says, their use is optional - some people do not like in-line references because they make articles more involved to edit. For my part, I like them as they allow Wikipedia to have a consistent style, and I wish they were not not quite so cumbersome.

If you read Wikipedia talk:Citation templates, you'll see that, like many things on Wikipedia the exact usage and format of citations has been discussed extensively, and is still discussed - or even argued over. That is normal, and you are entitled to your own opinion and to discuss and debate away with everyone else - you are an editor, just as much as everybody else - just don't take things too seriously.
