[edit] The Initiative cover image
At this point it is spec. If they actually appear in a story as part of the Initiative, or are referenced in story as members, then it's fair to add in. Covers can include things that are vague, overstated, or totally unrelated to the story. And statements from the "house organs", such as Marvel.com, are suspect. (At best the Marvel editor's statement falls under "crystal ball" material until it shows in an actual story.)
As a side note.. if the references are in passing in a story, (such as Gauntlet berating an inductee "You're in the Initiative now, just like GnatMan and the Screaming Ninnies!") Add it to the infobox with the ref call out. Things of relative substance should be in the article.
Thanks, - J Greb 19:42, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- And please flog me now... I've been miss reading what your block of text had included. I could have sworn it was "as a memberd" not just "pictured on". I didn't cach the difference until I hit the batch containing Hulkling. Going to self-revert now... :) Sorry about that. - J Greb 19:52, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

- Before adding this paragraph to 142 articles, let's call a moratorium for the moment, please, and bring it up for discussion on the Comics Project Noticeboard. I'm not sure it reaches the Wikipedia level of general-audience notability that the standards require. --Tenebrae 22:07, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

If you want to categorize redirects, this is not the way to do it. --Jack Merridew 15:43, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- How do I categorize redirects, then? 204.153.84.10 (talk) 15:45, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- The usual method is with a template and a special category; and no stub templates. I would suggest you work with a wikiproject for the group of articles you're interested in. -Jack Merridew 15:48, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

- FYI, {{ER to list entry}} is an example of the sort of categorizing template I was referring to. Cheers, Jack Merridew 07:20, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationales
You're adding them okay, the only thing I would say is that the source is either a scan if it is an actual cover, or provide a link if it is one of the digitally released cover artwork images. Most of the ones you've been doing ar scans, so just write scan, because at some point it must have been scanned. Anyone who wishes to argue the point, send them to WT:COMIC. All the best, Hiding T 16:18, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Nice work on these, BTW! --GentlemanGhost (talk) 01:06, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] categorising redirects
Your approach seems to be within the guidance at Wikipedia:Categorizing redirects. Hiding T 20:11, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- OK, cool! That works for me. I guess I'll see what Jack has to say about that before I jump into it - from what I've seen on D&D articles, he's had enough anon accounts harassing him and reverting his edits that I don't want to be counted among that number. :) 204.153.84.10 (talk) 14:54, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, right, here's a good example: [1] - he's an admin in good standing, so I figure he knows what he's doing, right? 204.153.84.10 (talk) 14:57, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

- Greetings! I see that you've been working on some of the redirects for D&D deities (and maybe others). You may or may not know about all of the notability issues that have been raised with many of these articles. If you are interested in continuing this work, please feel free to redirect many more of these articles to a list that may be appropriate for them. For example, the category Forgotten Realms deities has many articles that could be redirected to List of Forgotten Realms deities. Any help with this clean-up would be more than welcome, and it appears that your knowledge of this subject is more than mine (as you've been correcting some of my redirects). I'm not trying to delete any of these articles, and if there are sources that you know of for establishing notability, etc, please feel free to add them to the articles or to inform the people in Wikipedia: WikiProject Dungeons & Dragons as I'm sure that they will be appreciative of such information. All-in-all, I'm trying to help a little with the cleanup of this large set of articles (many of which are likely not notable, but some will be and sources need to be located). It's also good to know that the categories can be preserved in the redirects as I wasn't sure about that. :) Cheers --Craw-daddy | T | 17:22, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

- Just curious as to your reason for adding categories to Courier (comics)? In general, per WP:CAT-R, we don't add categories to redirect pages. In this instance, Courier is a totally minor character, so the chance anyone's looking for him in a category is slim to none. Please reply on Talk:Courier (comics)? Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 16:24, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Removing the Dazzler in X-Men 3 reference
I provided a link that backed up the claim/rumors (along with the actress who was tapped to play Dazzler) about her eventually aborted cameo. How exactly is it irrelevant (besides the fact that Dazzler didn't wind up in the finished product). There are still people out there who are very curious about the supposedly hetic and rushed production of X-Men: The Last Stand. Are you insiting on deleting virtually ever rumored comic book film role on here? To me, that's incredibly impractical. TMC1982 12:48 a.m., 30 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Havok image
My guess would be that it is "from the cover of X-Men: Emperor Vulcan #1." as the caption says. -Freak104 (talk) 05:31, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- D'oh! :) Somehow, that actually makes sense. ;)
[edit] Lathander
An editor has asked if your redirect of the article Lathander was appropriate without prior consensus or consultation with the authors of the articles. Could you give make your opinion known at Talk:Lathander? --Gavin Collins (talk) 19:31, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Howard the Duck
Thanks for the head's-up. The Vandalbot has been very good, and I've given the vandal a last warning, following multiple already on his talk page. If he vandalizes again, we're fulfilled the process to ask an admin for a block. Good editing to you! --Tenebrae (talk) 01:40, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Please stop
Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the article Levan (comics) has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. Please use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did, and feel free to use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do. Specifically, as I have mentioned previously, you are categorising redirects with a misleading edit summary leading people to believe you are redirecting the pages. Please refrain from doing this, as it can prove disruptive. Thank you, Hiding T 23:42, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- A better edit summary might be adding categories, per Wikipedia:Categorizing redirects. Just a thought, I'm not really sure what can be done about people reverting, it seems different interpretations of the guidance are at work. Hiding T 17:12, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
-
- The reverting's already been done, so c'est la vie. But thanks anyway! 204.153.84.10 (talk) 14:53, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] March 2008
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Ego the Living Planet, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. If your edit was not vandalism, please feel free to make your edit again after reporting it. The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Ego the Living Planet was changed by 204.153.84.10 (u) (t) making a minor change with obscenities on 2008-03-05T21:36:43+00:00 . Thank you. I please ask that you revert them back, or that you at least allow me to do so.
