[edit] Mycorrhiza
Thanks for trying to clear up the Mycorrhiza article. It definitely needs work. However, according to the Dictionary of the Fungi, 9th ed. by Kirk, et al, a mycorrhiza is a "symbiotic, non-pathogenic or feebly or weakly pathogenic association of a fungus and the roots of a plant." (Emphasis added.) It is compared by the authors to a lichen, which is also a symbiotic association, not an individual organism. Mycota 21:51, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- You are absolutely right. Sorry for the incorrect edits. I made the mistake of trusting my dashboard dictionary (New Oxford American Dictionary), which said mycorrhiza was the fungus alone. Everything else I can find on the net agrees that it refers to the association. Your revised edit is much clearer. -203.171.67.232 00:49, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
