You have taken article and replaced it with contents that are not consistent with an encyclopedia article. Gounder is a title used by many people not just your caste, also it is used across the world not just India. Please be considerate of all the people who come to this place to understand a title/surname usage as well as their family history. The most accomplished Govenders come from South Africa and it is a just a surname there.

I appreciate the reference yopu brought to the edit. I like the way you were able to keep both points, that they are native to the area or immigrants in the same article. Please follow the same format in all you edits.

RaveenS 14:49, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Hello Pon Deepankar, I have made the changes to the article to reflect the fact that you have another point of view and a link to your website. When you copy the article to a word document and then edit it you loose all the Wiki format. Make sure you use the sand box to edit it. 14:31, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

if you want to edit Gounder please do but not by replacing the whole article with only your point of view. Add your point of view in a neutral tone acceaptable to other editors in thea rticle (I just did it). Again Gounder title is not the sole property of one caste how much ever you belive it, so you need to give prominance to that too.

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.

Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 202.141.141.10). Logging in does not require any personal details. There are many other benefits for logging in to Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can type {{helpme}} on this page and an experienced Wikipedian will be around to answer any questions you may have.

Please note these points:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Both adding such unreasonable information and editing articles maliciously are considered vandalism.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, ask me on my Talk page – I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I was on a wikibreak. Glad to see another tamilian joining. You mentioned interest in Hinduism. You could join the WikiProject Hinduism and see where you can help.
