The 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics will be the 15th edition of the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics and will be held in March, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey.

[edit] Bidding Process

The IAAF announced on March 25, 2007 at an IAAF Council meeting in Mombasa, Kenya that it had received bids from Turkey and Qatar to host the championships. On November 25, 2007 at a Council meeting in Monaco, the IAAF announced that Istanbul will host the championships.

The events will take place at Sinan Erdem Dome, which has a seating capacity of 22,500.
