[edit] Vehicle changes
Concerns over the environmental impact of the sport have prompted proposals to increase the use of biofuels,[1] and other measures to increase the efficiency of engines and reduce emissions. These measures may include energy recovery from exhaust gases and engine coolant (supplementing the KERS regenerative braking system due to be introduced in the 2009 season), fuel flow metering, and the introduction of smaller turbo-supercharged engines.[2]
[edit] Calendar changes
The FIA has yet to confirm the calendar for 2011. Formula One administrator Bernie Ecclestone has stated that Melbourne may lose the Australian Grand Prix when its current hosting deal ends in 2010 unless the race can be held at a time more suitable for European audiences. There have not yet been any formal announcements concerning the Australian Grand Prix becoming a night race.[3]
