Talk:2007 Hukou F-5F crash
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Eyewitness account
I'm not sure how this relates to the general rule of no personal blog links, but an expat blogger was one of the witnesses to the crash and wrote up some of what he witnessed of the crash and participating in the investigation: [1], [2]. Might be useful. -Loren 02:48, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- In general, I won't use information from blog directly unless it is verified by other sources. This blogger is actually quite careful not to prematurely release information, in deference to the official investigation. Respect him for that and eagerly wait for updates. On another note, is there any information regarding the use of Hukou area for fighters' targeting practice? I read somewhere that they conduct such an exercise at Hukou only this year. Is there any reliable source to support or disprove this? --Vsion 02:47, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Agree with you on admiration for the blogger for holding off on releasing the photos till the investigation is complete. There's already more than enough media speculation to go around. GlobalSecurity classifies Hukou as "Army Aviation (helicopter) and armor" [3]. I'll dig around for more info. -Loren 02:58, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] paragraph needs clarification
I removed this paragraph from the article because it raises more questions than facts:
The Ministry of Defence announced on 18 May 2007 that it will provide full medical treatment to injured servicemen. The families of the two servicemen who died would be given compensation equivalent to the annual salary of a regular serviceman of the same rank. This is on top of the payment of the Worker's Compensation Act where MINDEF pays for deaths due to their service in the military. Also, additional payment can be given when necessary. The defence ministry will provide assistance and psychological support to the families of the servicemen who died and for those who are seriously injured.[1]

I think we need to clarify what the actual compensation is and what is this "Worker's Compensation Act". Otherwise, it is quite confusing, even to me. Let's gather more information before reinserting. --Vsion 03:30, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:TVBS screenshot.jpg
Image:TVBS screenshot.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
