The 2001 Sanex WTA Tour is the thirty-first full season since the WTA began. It commenced on January 1, 2001 and ended on November 5 after sixty-three events. Lindsay Davenport finished the season as the best-ranked player in the world for the second time in her career. Australian and French Open champion Jennifer Capriati finished second, ahead of Wimbledon and US Open champion Venus Williams. Martina Hingis had her worst year for results in five years, finishing fourth.
