Talk:1st Hussars
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"In 2005, the regiment ranked seventh among armoured milita regiments." in what? Seniority, quality or something like cookie eating?
- Good point. It's seventh in seniority. I'll make an edit. Indefatigable 22:48, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] history
hi, I just added the early history of the regiment. I hope to add the partisipation in th Boar War soon, followed by WWI and WWII. please look over and double check what i've posted so far. I've been using the 'Gallant Hussars' by Michael R. McNorgan for refrence. Mike McGregor (Can) 08:53, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
- Good work, Mike. Keep it up! You should add a "references" section at the bottom of the article with the publishing info on Gallant Hussars. See Wikipedia:Cite sources/example style for the format to use. Indefatigable 17:30, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] headquaters
article reads: "the regiment's headquarters was moved to London, Ontario, where it has remained to this day."... perhaps should read somthing like: "the regiment's headquarters was moved to London, Ontario, where (with the execption of wartime deployments) it has remained to this day."
[edit] ww1
I'm about 1/2 way through the ww1 section. Mike McGregor (Can) 10:01, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] How I hope to develop this artical
- In the WW1 section, I've already outlined the evolution of the orginization of 'B' Squadron, 7 CMR into 'B' squadron, CLH. I plan to outline the participation in combat operations throughout the entire war briefly, and break-out participation at Vimy Ridge and maybe the 100 days...
- interwar years will likely be similar to the Early history section, outlining re-orginzations etc...
- For WWII, I hope to have a similar section to WW1 with Juno beach, Black Sunday and holland broken out in more detail.
- postwar would probably be broken up into pre-Force unification and post... (unless this had little impact on the unit...?)
- then, maybe a section on equipment used, a list of comanders, medal recipiants, etc...
what do you think?

[edit] blah blah blah
I'm going to try to make a push on this article when i'm off work jan 21-24. I'm not to sure about this unit box thing... maybe just a pic of the Crest like on the other Canadian regiment sites? see: Royal Canadian Regement for example. what do you think? [edit] Battle Honours
Why are only some of the battle honours listed here? I noticed the same problem in other Canadian regimental articles as well. Is it possibly only the emblazoned battle honours are being added to the articles? I think that all the honours should be used, not just some of them.68.146.198.203 21:19, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
