[edit] Discrepancy

This Battalion is listed as part of both the 3rd Marines on that page and the 12th Marines. I'm assuming that it's in the 12th as the name suggests, but I was hoping someone who is certain (a Marine) could clarify this for us.

• • • This is true for basic reporting and continuity purposes. 1st Bn 12th Marines has a Direct Support relationship to 3rd Marine Regiment. Since both units are based at MCB Kaneohe Bay, HI (while 12th Marine Regimental HQ is at Camp Hansen, Okinawa) the USMC considers 1/12 "temporarily attached" to 3rd Marines. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.162.128.55 (talk) 18:22, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
