1st Infantry is the debut album from rapper and producer The Alchemist. It is a critical success and regarded highly in underground circles. It boasts popular single, "Hold You Down" featuring Prodigy, Nina Sky and Illa Ghee, which reached #95 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album itself reached #101 on the Billboard 200 chart, but did well on the Top Independent Albums and Top Heatseekers charts. The album's success lies within its production by The Alchemist and guest appearances from artists as diverse as The Game, The Lox, Nas, M.O.P., Mobb Deep, Lloyd Banks, T.I. and Dilated Peoples. The album has moved 174,661 units.
It was also released in an instrumental version and deluxe edition with a bonus DVD on October 4, 2005.
