[edit] Wikipedia is not a forum
Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Existence of God are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you.

- Um... The Jewish and Muslim God are the same God as the Christian God, (not to mention the only God) so your argument is faulty. Bad argument. Here's a few arguments for the existence of God.
* Anything exists * The universe had a beginning * Humans have a sense of morality * The universe is too fine tuned for it to be all coincidence.[1]

- Argue against all that. MalwareSmarts (talk) 21:39, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- this post which is still on there and mine, which just acts as a counter argument. not only that my argument does serve a purpose other than general discussion this is a page about the existence of god all arguments for and against should be included in the talk page therefore i undid your edit please argue your point on my talk page before deleting my edits.

- We're talking about your posts, nobody else's. It's plain that you are posting with the sole intent of arguing about the existence of God, since you orient your discussion around users rather than topics and make little reference to the article (one exception is where you say "this is unbelievably off topic and has nothing to do with the actual article"). Not only this, but your comments are often long and poorly formatted, diluting the page and obscuring its structure.
- "this is a page about the existence of god all arguments for and against should be included in the talk page". No. The talk page is for discussing possible improvements to the article. That doesn't necessitate long debates about whether gods exist. Most of the arguments that MalwareSmarts references already have articles complete with counter-arguments. What purpose is served by you addressing them as you did? Ilkali (talk) 08:56, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

- your right i am arguing about the existence of god, where we differ in opinion it that you don't consider that necessary to the discussion for the article. my argument is that it clearly is necessary because i'm providing a counter argument, to other peoples arguments. the operative word here is ""counter"" if you don't think my counter should be on the talk page then you should remove the original argument as well. get my reasoning
- secondly debates about the existence of god are important to the main article because they act as a starting point for inclusion into the article. All debates are important for this reason. anyone reading mine or someone else's argument could decide that it is worthy of a section of it's own. now i'm not advocating original research. thats why i haven't put them in the actual article but these kinds of debates are important for the evolution of the article

- "my argument is that it clearly is necessary because i'm providing a counter argument, to other peoples arguments". Are these arguments on the page in question? If so, are your counter-arguments already there? If not, do you have sources?
- "if you don't think my counter should be on the talk page then you should remove the original argument as well". Again, the issue here is whether you have used the talk page inappropriately. Whether other people have done so is completely irrelevant.
- debates about the existence of god are important to the main article because they act as a starting point for inclusion into the article. You may think so, but that's not Wikipedia's policy. Talk pages are for discussing specific improvements, they're not meant to house anything and everything that you think might inspire somebody to improve the article. And again, the arguments and counter-arguments in question are mostly already present in the encyclopedia. Ilkali (talk) 10:09, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
